Leon Silbermann – Turning every need into an opportunity
The story begins in 1949, when mechanical engineer Leon Silbermann immigrated from Europe to Israel and recognized a pressing need: reliable oxygen pressure regulators for industry and hospitals. With nothing more than a single manual lathe, Leon opened a small workshop and began working on his own. Each day, he visited grocery stores, workshops, and hospitals, repairing and manufacturing pressure regulators wherever they were required.
Whenever a challenge arose, Leon met it head-on. When hospitals requested centralized gas systems to deliver oxygen directly to each patient’s bedside, he expanded his workshop to design and manufacture not only regulators but also wall outlets, flowmeters, humidifiers, vacuum systems, and other critical medical gas equipment — turning every challenge into an opportunity for innovation. That was the beginning of Silbermann Technologies.
Leon Silbermann’s legacy lives on in everything we do at Silbermann. His spirit and values remain embedded in the company’s DNA.

From a small workshop to a global leader in medical gas pipeline systems
Silbermann Technologies is a family-owned company spanning three generations, built on resilience, innovation, and a deep sense of commitment to healthcare in Israel and worldwide.
Milestones
1949
Company founded by Leon Silbermann
1974
In 1974, Eva, Leon’s daughter, and Jacob Gleich—a physicist newly returned from the United States—married and began building both a family and the next era of the company. Jacob stepped in as CEO, guiding Silbermann into a new phase of technological advancement. Under his leadership, Silbermann introduced quality assurance systems, obtained European and American certifications, and developed digital alarm systems, backup solutions, and innovative medical equipment for operating rooms and ICUs.
1985
Silbermann achieved its first major international breakthrough, supplying products on a large scale to Thailand, where today thousands of hospitals are equipped with Silbermann technologies. With the acquisition of advanced CNC machinery and a growing workforce, the company entered new markets in China, South Korea, Russia, and beyond.
1997
Received the CE Mark for medical devices, a milestone that opened doors to Europe and reinforced its global presence.
2009
The third generation stepped in with Itay Gleich as CEO and Arik Gleich as COO. Together with their parents, Eva and Yaakov, they continue to drive the company forward. Their focus is on strengthening international operations while maintaining strong ties to the Israeli healthcare system.
2020
During the COVID-19 period, Silbermann stepped in to supply respiratory equipment to every country that needed it, including China, Vietnam, Thailand, and South American countries. We worked around the clock in three shifts to meet demand and deliver the required equipment as quickly as possible.
2023
Silbermann expanded its operations to include large-scale projects across Africa. One such project involved designing a comprehensive medical gas system for Euracare Multi-Specialist Hospital in Ghana, which incorporated both medical air and oxygen systems. The installation was executed by local contractors in Ghana, and the hospital is now fully operational and in active use.
As Itay, today’s CEO, explains:
“To keep growing, our vision must look outward. We are building a strong foundation to handle multiple large projects simultaneously, without compromising on quality. With a professional management team, strategic consultants, and a clear roadmap, we are preparing for the next era of global expansion.“
